Doris S. Wilkinson, 90, of Wilton Manors was called home to the Lord on Sunday morning, January 20, 2013. She was born on August 31, 1922 to loving parents, Sydney and Ethel Lawrence, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. In 1963, Doris moved to Fort Lauderdale with husband, Clarence, and their three children. Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Her enthusiasm for life, grace, compassion, dogged determination, humor, and wit were apparent in all her endeavors. She is survived by her twin sons, Larry and Lance Wilkinson, daughter Susan (David) Beecroft; grandchildren Katherine (Howard) Frank, Allyson (Shane) Burke, Bryan Wilkinson, and Holly Wilkinson; great-grandchildren Simon and Hayden Frank, Dylan and Emma Burke. Her beautiful spirit will continue to guide all those she left behind. Affiliations included the Garden Club of Fort Lauderdale and the Woman’s Club of Wilton Manors. Doris retired from Nova University in 1989 after many years of dedicated service. Memorial services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, February 2nd , 11:30 AM with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cooperative Feeding Program of Broward County where Doris volunteered many years or to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
